2019 Winter Concert Reflection Instructions:
Assignment: To write a reflection on the winter concert from last week.
Due date: Monday, February 4th 2019
Your work MUST:
1. Be typed.
2. Follow the formatting used in ELA (Times New Roman; 12 point font).
3. Be concise and articulately written. Include music vocabulary wherever possible.
Be sure to check your spelling.
Do not write a conversational answer; I expect a formal and thoughtful response to these questions.
A thorough response will be approximately one page (if single-spaced) and should not be more than two (if double spaced).
Each song will require 4 to 6 sentences to answer properly.
For EACH song your band performed, answer the questions below:
• Describe: 1. Your own performance, 2. The performance of your instrument section, and 3. The performance of the band overall. (Use the video posted below for reference).
• What was the musical highlight of our performance during this song?
• How could our performance been improved?
THEN, consider your work from the fall semester in music. Write a short answer about what went well and what you believe still needs improvement.
And, FINALLY, write three goals for the spring term and include at least one sentence describing why you believe you need to work on this goal.
Use the video recording of the winter concert posted on the recordings page.
Concert C major scale (measure 41-44) is due on or before: Friday, March 8th
Perform this major scale in person, outside of class (i.e., before homeroom, or during the first half of lunch on any day, or after school on Wednesdays or Fridays)
Send a video recording of yourself playing this major scale and arpeggios to: firstname.lastname@example.org
See your teacher with any questions.
